New Product Launch! The first batch of ErgoSentry keyboards will be run as a group buy with estimated delivery around May/June 2025. The group buy ends on February 28. If you need a shorter delivery timeframe, please consider ErgoStrafer instead.
ErgoSentry has the familiar layout and sculpted keycaps of the Merc Stealth, but with mechanical switches, high-performance electronics, and customizable open source firmware. ErgoSentry is the modern answer to your gaming keyboard needs. For the gaming pad portion only, see ErgoStrafer.
Faithful reproduction of the Merc Stealth gaming pad layout (placement, key shape, and key heights) as well as the same 5, 8, and 11 degree tilt options ensures that ErgoSentry will seamlessly replace the Merc Stealth you've relied on for years. Additional keys like Z, X, and the 3rd number row can further enhance your gaming abilities. Features include:
- MX-style mechanical switches (brown tactiles, red linears, or your choice of any switch)
- High performance STM32F411 microcontroller for ultra-fast matrix scanning
- Integrated USB hub which provides two USB-A ports
- Integrated USB audio which provides high-fidelity 192kHz/32bits headphone and microphone ports using Cmedia CM6646
- NKRO (N-key rollover): no limit on how many keys can be pressed at a time
- Three rotary encoders & knobs with both press and rotate capabilities
- Added Z and X keys on the gamepad
- Added a third number row on the gamepad
- Added a second row of function keys (F13 through F24) on the main keyboard with relegendable keycaps
- Shine through keycaps (excluding relegendable keycaps)
- Open source QMK firmware with VIA compatibility gives you full control and easy dynamic key remapping for up to 12 layers, meaning no more issues with driver incompatibilities and proprietary software
- USB-C connector (USB-A to USB-C cable included)
- 3D printed gaming pad keycaps and 3D printed case
- Keycap stickers for the gaming pad keys (except the 3rd number row)
- Integrated buzzer
Three layouts are available:
- ErgoSentry ANSI prioritizes minimal desk space with an ANSI layout. This layout and size is most similar to the Merc Stealth; there is no gap around the arrow keys and the numpad "0" is only 1u wide.
- ErgoSentry Plus ANSI prioritizes the inclusion of additional keys and improved key cluster separation. There is an additional column of keys to the left of the numpad, the numpad 0 is a full 2u wide, and the arrow keys are exploded (there is a gap all the way around them).
- ErgoSentry Plus ISO is the same as ErgoSentry Plus ANSI, but with a 2u-tall ISO enter key as well as the left shift being split into two smaller keys.
Stabilizers are PCB-mount. They will be clipped and lubricated during assembly.
The PCB uses MX-compatible hotswaps for all the mechanical switches, allowing you to change out the mechanical switches to customize the sound and feel of the keyboard. All keycaps are MX-compatible, so you can change out the main keyboard keycaps as well to suit your preferences.
The USB Audio capability can be fully disabled (e.g. so as to ensure a dedicated sound card takes priority).
The USB Audio mic input can be muted directly within the keyboard itself with no dependency on the operating system. Microsoft Windows does not include a means to globally mute microphone inputs, but being able to mute the microphone input of the keyboard before it even reaches the computer makes it possible to globally mute the microphone input. That is, the microphone mute key works across all applications, including Microsoft Teams, Discord, and Twitch.
Contact us for a custom quote (sales@custommk.com) if you would like a custom configuration built using specific switches, stabilizers, or keycaps. Please note that the installed keycap sets may be different from the ones shown in the photos--if the specific keycaps used are important to you, please contact us prior to ordering.
Please understand that the group buy delivery date is an estimate. There are a number of factors that could allow some or all orders to ship sooner than the estimated date, or cause orders to ship later than the estimated date. For example, we may be able to ship some orders sooner by utilizing extra hardware from prototype development. Conversely, delays due to logistics/shipping/assembly may also occur.
